Hi All, and welcome to Brent Worley fitness.
You’re probably looking at some of my pictures and wondering what I could possibly teach you about fitness, losing weight, getting in shape, etc. Well, let me tell you…
This picture of me was taken in early 2009, before I began my quest to transform my body. I weighed somewhere around 220-230, had well over 30% body fat, and was not happy with my image.
Worse than that, though, was the damage my body and health was taking.
My family has a history of diabetes and obesity. I’ve lost two grandparents to diabetes. I have other close family members that are either Type 2 diabetic or have had scares with in the last several years.
I simply was not healthy. I mean, look at me!
My waistline was 47″. They say anything over 35″ starts the increase of risk of heart disease, and I beat that by a solid foot.
My chest was 48.5″.
I had no endurance, no energy, nothing. And I knew, after the fateful conversation I had on October 2nd, 2008 that I had to do something.
You see, I received a call from a close family member who had just had a scare with Type 2. I was expecting my third child, hearing this news, and knew that I had to make a change. I could not allow myself to be sick, unhealthy, and possibly die young and leave my 3 beautiful daughters behind.
I knew, at that point, I had to make a change.
So, one night, I saw an infomercial for P90X. And I got hooked.
Since then, I’ve focused on using a handful of Beachbody routines, including P90X and Insanity. I’ve also grown to love Beachbody’s Shakeology product as a great meal replacement, energy shake, and just something incredibly healthy to consume.
Now, just a handful of years (and a few ups and downs) later, this is me. I’m leaner, I have more energy, I’m healthier, and darn-it, I look good!
I’ve put in the time to lose the fat. I’ve sacrificed the continual fast food, late night eating, soft drinks, continuous sweets, and more to focus on building a body that would be healthy, strong, and able to fit into normal size clothes without a lot of X’s in front of them.
This is my journey.
This is my passion.
