P90X Day 57 (Phase 3 Start) – Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X, and Cardio X

Today began P90X Phase 3 for me.  It also began a determination to push harder and do more to shed more fat before I begin round 2 in late June/early July.  So I’m doing an extra Cardio X on resistance days.

Today was Chest & Back.  I have not done this routine since week 3 (day 22).  I was absolutely amazed by how much my strength had improved.  Last time I could only start with 15 push-ups.  Today I did 20 and had more left in me, but wanted to pace for round 2 of this exercise.  Round two I still did 15.

And I could do declines!  Last time I was lucky to squeeze out 3, today I did 8 and 7.  So big improvement there!

Ab Ripper was a challenge as I used a LOT of energy doing Chest and Back.  I did have some improvements in a lot of the routines, but I was very, very tired.

After going through my day, it was time for Cardio X.  This was my first time on this routine.  This is an excellent cardio routine.  My heart rate stayed in the 150′s and lower 160′s during most of it.  I plan on doing this 3 times a week for phase 3.  This will assist in fat burn.  I’ve added some calories to offset a bit.
