Insanity Day 33 was the month 1 wrap-up for me, Core Cardio And Balance. I was able to push even harder on Friday without much soreness from the calf, which felt good. I burned a few more calories which always helps.
I took Saturday off from exercise to give the calf a bit more rest before month 2 rolls around (starting tomorrow).
So, looking back on month 1, I learned these things:
1. This program is about pushing with pace. It’s easy to burn out fast. It is as much endurance as it is anything.
2. Be sure to eat enough. Not eating enough will cause your body not to react as well.
3. Enjoy your rest days…the other 6 days are brutal enough.
Tomorrow starts month 2 of Insanity, complete with another fit test and Max Interval Circuit (which I watched today, and think I’m in to have my butt kicked).

Insanity day 32 was Core Cardio And Balance. Again, with the leg feeling pretty good this morning, I decided to push a bit harder. I felt it a bit after the workout but nothing alarming. I’m rather pleased with it. I’m going to take some advice I got from a contact on the forums and try something to work on the healing process.
Diet was very good today. Going to start thinking about how to increase my calories for next week.

Today was Insanity Day 31 – Core Cardio and Resistance. So far, my ONLY complaint about Insanity is the fact that the recovery week is all one routine. Now, I understand the need for this routine and why it is all week, but I’m a variety guy (hence why I love workouts like Insanity and P90X).
The leg was feeling pretty good this morning, so I tried pushing a bit harder. It still gets sore during the day, though, after pushing it. I’m debating still an additional rest day, possibly taking Saturday off again to let the leg rest and heal (and not go play 9 holes of golf).
I’ll be taking pictures and measurements at the end of the week. I’m looking forward to seeing what all changed!

Insanity Core Cardio and Balance is a tough routine when you don’t get much sleep. The joy of having three young kids is you never know how who will be up, how much sleep you will (or will not) get. So this morning I was dragging…big time. The moves at the end burn. That’s all I can really say about that.
The leg is still a bit sore. I may choose to skip another workout this week just to give it another day to heal and loosen up. I have not decided on this yet, though, but if I do I most likely will skip either Friday or Saturday. Really need the leg to be ready to go for phase 2.

Insanity Day 29 was Core Cardio and Balance. I’ll be honest, I was very timid in doing this due to how my leg felt. Fortunately, this routine was not extremely taxing on the leg and I could finish the routine without much pain. This routines is a lot like Cardio Recovery in that you will sweat but you will not exhaust yourself.
It was good timing to go into a recovery week with my leg feeling the way it does.
