The end of last week got really busy so I did not have a chance to write much on this blog about how my P90X workouts were going. So here is a quick post recapping those days.
Last Thursday was Yoga X. This was the first workout I’ve been able to complete (minus the 17 minutes I usually cut out) since having the flu. It was tough still at times, particularly in the beginning. Legs were shaking and it took all I had to hold poses.
Friday was Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X. I STRUGGLED this day. Energy was lower than Thursday for some reason (got to bed a bit later, which probably had some to do with it), and made this workout very, very tough. I fought through it and had to dig a bit for the strength in ABX, but did it pretty well.
Saturday, I decided to mix things up a bit. Instead of doing Kenpo X, I did Cardio X. I personally like Cardio X a lot more then Kenpo.
It’s shorter.
It keeps my heart rate up consistently.
It’s shorter.
Its more variety.
Did I mention that it’s shorter?
I don’t really pay a lot of attention to length of the cardio routines, but honestly, there are parts of Kenpo X that simply do not do it for me. But all of Cardio X works me, including the first bit of Yoga. My HR stayed in the 150′s for everything outside of Yoga (which still kept it in the 140′s, as I was pushing hard), but was not uncommon to go from 160 – 170 either. 43 minutes burned over 700 calories.
I’ll post a bit later about today’s Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps workout.
