I think I mention every week of P90X that I love yoga. Today, no exception. I always just feel good after it.
I’m still working on improving, though. I’m far from perfect with this routine. There are still sections of it that make me want to coward down into a little ball and cry for help. But you know, that’s the beauty of working on your weak spots and working towards making yourself better.
Nutrition today was spot on. I did alter my post workout, since Yoga is not “intense.” So instead of a post workout drink, I added in 2 scrambled eggs to my breakfast.
Pre-workout: Banana
Breakfast: “Shake and Eggs” – Shakeology + 2 scrambled eggs
Snack: 4oz 1% cottage cheese, 10 Sun Chips (yes, I realize many people label these as junk, but they are high in unsaturated fats, low saturated fats, high fiber, some protein, and low sugar. And they taste good).
Lunch: BBQ chicken over brown rice and some V8
Snack: 1oz Cashews
Supper: BBQ chicken sandwich, veggies, and a bit less than half a cup of baked beans (wanted a bit more fiber and carb, but loved the protein that came with the beans)
Snack: Protein shake

I was out all yesterday on a family emergency, so I did not even bother updating my status. So, here are the last 2 days of P90X workouts:
Yesterday: Ab Ripper X, Shoulders and Arms – Good workout overall. Nutrition…not as good. Being near a hospital all day I had one snack missing and we ended up grabbing pizza at a nearby place. I kept it decent, but not as healthy as I wanted to eat.
Today: Fountain of Youth Yoga. After yesterday, really wanted to clear the mind a bit. Didn’t work to well. To much in life going on. Ate well though.
Short update tonight, due to being just exhausted and needing some rest.

Really not much to write about P90X Fountain of Youth Yoga this morning. It was tough. It was uncomfortable. It was a good workout. If you read my blog regularly, you know my love for Yoga (not being sarcastic…to me, one of the better workouts to do each week).
Nutrition was good today. Had 2 bites of pizza at the end of supper (we ate from McAlisters), but no other major slips.
Preworkout: 1/2 banana, 1/2 tbsp natural peanut butter
Breakfast: Shakeology
Snack: 4oz cottage cheese
Lunch: Verde chicken on rice
Snack: 1oz Cashews
Supper: Mcalisters chicken wrap and salad

Wow…2/3rds of the way through P90X. What a way to do it than to do FOY Yoga. Now, Yoga itself can be pretty hard. But, Yoga after 2 major workouts the day before is even more tough.
Did get better sleep last night. Was only woken up once! =)
Nutrition today was good, just not much variety. Not going to list it here…just too bland. Just imagine eating almost the same thing for lunch and supper today as yesterday.

P90X week 6 and another Yoga day. Today was the first day I tried having a snack before I started. Of course, compared to workouts like I will have tomorrow (Legs and Back), it might not have made as much of a difference. But we’ll see when I wake up in the morning to workout how it feels.
I do feel I did a bit better with this routine. Not sure whether to credit the snack or something else, but felt pretty good through the entire routine. For some reason today I did not feel as flexible though. Something I’m going to continue to work on (I really need to add X Stretch in on Saturdays….but that’s another topic for another day).
I had 1 cheat today: A brownie after supper. 222 calories (yes, I looked it up). Not thrilled that I did, but I have room to spare. As of the end of supper I only consumed 1740 calories, so the extra 222 might not hurt me too much, even taking an evening snack.
Pre-workout snack – 1 slice whole wheat bread, 1/2 tsbp peanut butter, 1/2 banana.
Breakfast – Shakeology, but with only 1/2 banana
Snack #1 – 1oz Almonds
Lunch – Yo Soup For You with 1/2 cup rice and 1 apple
Snack #2 – A granola bar (out of raisins and snowed in!)
Supper – 2 eggs scrambled, whole wheat with blueberries and cinnamon topped with sugar free syrup, 1 brownie
Snack #3 – Most likely a protein shake

P90X Day 22 begins the recovery week. I did Fountain Of Youth yoga instead of Yoga X. I just like the “to the point”-edness (I know, I know, not a word…go with me though) of the shortened routine. It still had me breaking into a major sweat. My legs were trembling around the right angle pose time, and the “Ab-a-dab-a-doo-ya” work REALLY had my abs on fire today!
Considering my legs were still sore from the Turbo Fire HIIT 15 I did yesterday, the workout was extra fun today!
Nutrition was good today. For the first Sunday in a while, I stayed on course with my eating.
Breakfast – Shakeology with skim milk, banana, and natural PB.
Snack #1 – 1oz almonds
Lunch – Lean meat hamburger on whole wheat
Snack #2 – Raisins and once slice low sodium Turkey
Supper – Chicken fajitas using 2 whole wheat shells (16g of fiber baby!)
Snack – A left over smoothie I had from yesterday
So far, so good. A bit under 10 weeks left!

P90X Yoga X on Day 11. I had to shorten this again. I actually ordered Tony Horton’s Fountain Of Youth from his One on One workout series to have a much shorter alternative to the full 90 minute Yoga X. I love doing yoga but it can break my concentration by having to split up that workout.
Nutrition was good again today.
Breakfast – 2 slices whole wheat toast, 3 slices Canadian bacon, 1 egg, 1 slice 2% cheese.
Snack #1 – Almonds
Lunch – The soup from The Abs Diet book
Snack #2 – 1 slice whole wheat toast, 1 T natural PB, 1 T all strawberry preserves
Supper – Chili, smaller portion with 1/2 cup brown rice and some flaxseed
Snack #3 – Turkey and cheese and maybe some skim milk with some protein added (haven’t made it this far yet).

P90X Day 39 was Yoga X. I had some stomach issues early on in the exercise and had to pause. Because of this I was running behind and cut one series out (about 15 minutes), but still had over 75 minutes of intense Yoga. My flexibility is getting there (if you review my fit test, I was 4 inches away from my toes, now I’m past my toes.
Not much else to write here other than I took a “sneak peak” measurement and noticed I have not lost anything. I’m not alone in my group, though. At least one other in the group noticed the same thing. I’m hoping the CLA starts helping by the end of this phase.

P90X Yoga X was not pretty this morning, although I was slowly getting better at it by the time the first half ended. Continual improvement is what I care about here, and felt like I made some improvement this time.
My diet today…well, it sucked. Way off of what I needed to do. I’m missing being home for this very reason, although I think I can do better tomorrow since I can plan a bit better (today was a travel day). So wish me luck that I can figure things out.
Since I’m travelling, I’m altering the schedule slightly. Tomorrow I will do Kenpo X and do Legs and Back when I get back home on Saturday.
